The International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) announced the appointment of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as a global ambassador for the IAPB.
The agency stated that this appointment comes in recognition of Prince Abdulaziz leadership and influential role he played in the field of ophthalmology in general and combating blindness in particular, for many years. Besides his new appointment, Prince Abdulaziz chairs the 'Saudi Ophthalmological Society' and the 'National Committee for Prevention of Blindness'.
He is also the chairman of the board of directors of the Middle East African Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO) and chairman of the Federation for Prevention of Blindness. Prince Abdulaziz also won many regional and international awards in the field of ophthalmology and prevention of blindness.
IAPB is the overarching alliance for the global eye health sector, with more than 150 organisations in over 100 countries working together for a world where everyone has universal access to eye care.
